Let me introduce myself. My name is Cara Overbeck, and I’ve been a practicing, Board Certified, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon since 1988. My practice is in Venice, Florida and focuses primarily on dental implants and third molars, or wisdom teeth.
Below, you will find my educational and professional background, training and affiliations, but I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you my feelings about my practice.
Our goal at all times is to provide the highest quality, state of the art care and personal service to our patients. We make every effort possible to ensure that your experience with us is easy and comfortable, from our office environment, to our technology and training, to the selection of our staff. Nothing is more important to me than the good treatment of our patients. We know that going to an oral surgery office is a new experience, and possibly a bit scary to some. We try very hard to dispel that apprehension.
I can not imagine doing anything other than practicing dentistry. I feel that, in many respects, dentistry is about more than teeth and involves other areas of people’s lives. When you think about it, it involves helping, coaching, teaching and motivating. We get to know many of our patients quite well and they sometimes tell us about the impact that we have had on their lives. For instance, one gentleman told us that the dental implants we placed helped give him the confidence to propose to his girlfriend. They have been married for eight years now and have two children. We feel we have a great rapport with our patients and we find that hugely rewarding.
Let me tell you more about what I do and what training I have had. An Oral Surgeon is what is known as a dental specialist. I work very closely with the best dentists in our area to diagnose, plan and provide your dental care, taking all dental and medical factors into consideration. The typical training program for a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon is really quite long and rigorous. This training includes:
This training and experience, along with the most advanced technology and great staff, is all focused on you having the most favorable dental experience possible with the highest probability of success. This is what is most important to us. We want to deserve the trust you and your dentist have placed in us and do the very best we can for you.
